After: Living room · same corner, slab to finished floor

_01 · Our services

Hardwood & engineered

Solid and engineered wood, installed the way the manufacturer and the subfloor call for. The goal is a floor that stays flat, quiet and tight for decades.

Three ways to install it

Methods

Nail-down

Solid hardwood fastened to a plywood or OSB subfloor. The classic method for upstairs rooms.

Glue-down

Engineered wood bonded to a concrete slab with a full spread of adhesive. Solid underfoot, no hollow sound.

Floating

Engineered boards locked together over an underlayment. Fast, and works over most flat surfaces.

What makes it last

The Focus difference

_01

Moisture readings first

We measure the subfloor and the boards before installing. Wood that goes down too wet or too dry is what makes floors gap and cup later.

_02

Boards mixed from several boxes

We rack the floor from several boxes at once, so shades blend naturally and end joints never line up in a pattern.

_03

Custom wood transitions

Doorways get transitions cut from wood instead of off-the-shelf strips, for a clean edge between rooms.
