Subfloor & leveling

The floor you see sits on the work you don’t. Squeaks, gaps and bouncing boards almost always start in the subfloor, so that is where we start too.

What the prep can include

Methods

Moisture testing

Readings on concrete and wood subfloors, so the right barrier or adhesive is used.

Grinding & patching

High spots ground down, cracks and low spots filled.

Self-leveling

A poured leveling compound when a whole room is out of flat.

What makes it last

The Focus difference

_01

Measured, not guessed

We check flatness with a straightedge across every room and mark what needs work before quoting.

_02

Squeaks fixed at the source

Loose plywood is screwed down to the joists before the new floor goes on top.

_03

Layout before installation

Reference lines are snapped on the subfloor, so boards run straight from room to room.
